The development of the adult programmes at AAS has been successful largely due to the intensity, frequency and quality of the consulting we have received from ARC over the last 4 years. The staff have grown progressively not only in their competencies but also in the way they think about the quality of life for individuals with moderate to severe autism. The training and feedback is tailored and individualized, and is delivered clearly, professionally and in realistic chunks for direct application. Valuable feedback provided during the design and construction phase of the 2nd Day Activity Centre, resulted in a functional, meaningful and autism-friendly space for clients as well as staff. ARC has also provided resources in the form of IBooks, web links and updates on international best practices. ARC, in particular Anita Russell, has been and continues to be, our guide for technical excellence as well as our moral compass in developing, improving and extending our programmes.
